The First Annual Statewide Hawai'i Photographers Exhibition opened today (July 9, 2021) in Hilo and runs thru July 29. The show is hosted at the Wailoa Center (200 Piopio Street), Hawai’i Island’s largest venue for showcasing the work of local artists. And, it's a wonderfully beautiful and airy space! A Facebook page also showcases accepted entries to the exhibition.
This juried event features landscapes; Hawaiian flora and fauna; lifeways illustrating traditional and current viewpoints of the uniqueness of Hawaiian culture; and alternative photography. There is something for everyone! I am honored to show five pieces, all images of endemic birds.
